Galactic Timeline - The Return of the Mandalorians

The Keeper of the Jedi Archives has entered a new holorecord. Continuing his investigation, Master Gnost-Dural delves deeper into the history of the galaxy after discovering that the blockade that Hylo Visz helped end was a result of the actions of the new Mandalore.

BTC 8 – During a Republic resurgence in the Great War, a bold young warrior rose to fame in the Gladiatorial arenas on Geonosis. Adopting the ancient and infamous title of Mandalore, this young leader amassed an army of Mandalorian mercenaries and bounty hunters. The new Mandalore led his forces to form a blockade and challenge the Jedi Order, effectively turning the tide of the war back in the Sith Empire’s favor.

It looks like the Mandalorians will not be a playable race. It is my guess however that the madalorians will play a roll in the SW:TOR community as NPCs. The mandalorians are made up of many different races. It is very possible that the mandalorians will be a faction.

Actually, if Mandalorians will have a place in TOR, it'll be as a non-player group - the dev blog entry concerning the Bounty Hunter class confirmed that player BHs will not be part of any Expanded Universe group which has been explored before; player stories are to follow their progression in a unique faction of Bounty Hunters.

Too bad; Mandalorians are very popular in Star Wars games, but all the same, its not like you actually get the chance to play one, except for Boba Fett/ Jango Fett maybe.  I wonder if the PC actually gets to customize their character's appearance and race, like Oblivion. I am almost betting on this feature, seeing as how BioWare offered this in KOTOR, with the exception of race customization.
